Lin Cummins: Cosmology

On the North Wales coast is a series of almost 400 beach defence posts that are studies in chaos and the passage of time, each one a perfect microcosm of a universe; some are calm and serene while others seems to express distress and turbulence.

My camera allowed me to explore these infinite and unique universes, each describing a different journey, transformed over time by random acts of nature or in an instant by a deliberate act of human intervention.

The images represent both order and uncertainty in a chaotic world. From a distance the images appear consistent and repetitive in form, on closer inspection an intense beauty is revealed, each with their own story to tell.
