Creu Conwy LLENWI!

A celebration of Conwy’s amazing people and places!

LLENWI FB BANNER

LLENWI is a destination signage project which will see local Augmented Reality artist Livi Wilmore (www.livicg.co.uk) and traditional sign writer Tomos Jones (www.momosigns.co.uk) collaborating to run a series of workshops and community activities to create 5 large art works combining their practices across Conwy County.

The project will bring together Livi Wilmore’s digital augmented reality (AR) world and Tomos Jones’ beautiful, traditional signwriting - Creating landmark art installations in Abergele, Colwyn Bay, Conwy, Llandudno and Llanrwst, which are bought to life through AR when scanned with a smart phone.

There’s the chance to get involved through a series of workshops spanning digital art and poetry. These sessions will seek to draw out words phrases and imagery that are meaningful to the local area and this will be used to inspire the artwork and digital elements.

The first big question though… Where are the spaces that LLENWI should occupy? We are looking for suggested locations across the 5 towns. Perhaps a drab wall that’s asking to be brightened up and brought to life?

We also need help gathering stories, sayings, phrases, memories, pictures, and anything else about your area. There is no restriction on what could be gathered or how it is presented. Share your own stories (they could be funny, silly or sad) memories, sayings or ask a friend / relative / neighbour / member of the community.
