African Clubs: 'Congo Clubs'
These clubs were carried by some of the students of the African Institute on their journey to Colwyn Bay. They were used when the students gave talks and during occasions when they fundraised for the Institute. They are a part of the Congo House / African Institute display at the Colwyn Bay Library.
Bronze Age Hoard (replicas)
Three axe replicas of the Abergele Bronze Age Hoard and children’s art inspired by them can be viewed at Abergele Library. The art was created as part of the Festival of Archaeology 2024. The original Abergele Bronze Age Hoard is on display at Conwy Culture Centre.”
Eisteddfod Llandudno 1898 Chair
From Old Colwyn, Reverend W. Evans-Jones won the Llandudno Eisteddfod Chair under the bardic name 'Penllyn' in 1898. The chair sits proudly in the main area of the Conwy Library with further information available in an interpretation book and playable audio.
The Children's Library Display
The Children's Library Display contains:- Betws y Coed Guest Book Page; Mussel Purse Souvenir; Archive Images on Plates; Piece of Goosey's Boat - Goosey was a local Dolgarrog man who looked for survivors following the Dam Disaster floods in 1925. The piece in the display was deposited by his grand-daughter.
Conway Valley Dollhouse
B.S. Bacon (Games) Ltd established a toy factory in Llanrwst in 1947 which made dollhouses under the 'Conway Valley' name. The factory was called Bes Bac Works.
